Teen Self-Defense Class

Classes will be held on Wednesdays July 10-31 with ages 11-13 from 6:15-7:15pm and ages 14-18 from 7:15-8:45pm at Shooting Stars Dance. Cost is $25 per family and parents are welcome to attend with their teen(s) if they wish! Classes may be combined based on enrollment numbers.

Teach your teen how to keep themselves safe with self-defense classes geared for their age.

Ages 11-18 will learn basic situational awareness and self-defense skills. Empower your teen to stay safe in situations they may encounter as they gain more independence and responsibility. Students will be split into ages 11-13 and ages 14+ (if class numbers allow) and class will cover some sensitive topics. Parents are welcome to attend with their student if desired. This class is taught by Carlton County Emergency Management Director, Marlyn Halvorson, Certified Master Instructor Mike Gau and Master Scott Peterson from Northland Tae Kwon Do. Cost is $25 per student (parent can attend at no cost).
